Advice Week 11th - 15th October 2010
Six national charities have again joined together to stage Advice Week: Advice Services Alliance, AdviceUK, Age UK, Citizens Advice, Law Centres Federation and Youth Access.
Theme
Parts of the Equality Act will be coming into effect in October, and therefore, we felt that this year’s theme should be discrimination. We’ve branded the posters with the slogan: It’s not OK! Don’t put up with it – get advice. We really want to highlight the fact that discrimination isn’t acceptable.

Promoting your agency
Advice Week is an ideal platform for you to raise your profile. You should by now have received one A3, one A4 and one banner poster, all branded, that promote Advice Week.
Your national network has selected the issue that they would like to focus on under the topic of discrimination, they are:
- AdviceUK – migrant workers
- Age UK – age discrimination
- Citizens Advice – hate crime
- Law Centres Federation – Equality Act
- Youth Access – young people's rights.
If you would like to focus on a different issue from the above, we have removed the logos from all posters and you can download them to print here.
It's not OK... to discriminate because of race
It's not OK... to be a vitim of hate
It's not OK... to discriminate because of gender
It's not OK... for your rights to be ignored
It's not OK...to be treated badly because you're older
Resource pack
We have also created a resource pack, which includes more information about the week as well as ideas for local activities.
