ADR

ASA ran an ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) project between 1998 and 2012. This page tells you how to find information about ADR if you are:

A member of the public
A student, academic or legal adviser
Interested in ADR policy

Information for members of the public – Advicenow website

Our ADRnow website provided impartial and accurate information about ADR. As a result of funding cuts, we had to close the site in June 2012.

We have written two guides on topics that are popular with members of the public:

Why use ADR? Pros and cons
Finding and choosing a mediator

In the longer term, we want to produce a set of Advice Guides on ADR. These will be placed on our public-facing Advicenow website (www.advicenow.org.uk)

Resources for students – the summaries

The ADRnow website contained summaries of relevant court judgements and research reports. We know that these were useful to students, academics and legal advisers. We have therefore moved these to this website. Please use the links below:

Summaries of court judgements on ADR issues
Summaries of ADR research

Please note that these are not being updated or revised after June 2012.

ADR Policy work

ASA also responded to consultations on ADR issues, and provided regular ADR updates bulletins (until 2009). These can be found under the policy tab on this website.
