Course 2 outline - Supervision: Compliance
SRA CPD Intermediate/Advanced level (4.5 CPD hours)
Do you want to make sure you are complying with all the Specialist Quality Mark (SQM) and 2010 Standard (Civil) Contract requirements around the supervision of staff, including file review? Do you want to become a Category Supervisor and need to know what to do?
This NEW course brings together all the supervision and file review requirements in an accessible and understandable manner. It will tell you everything that a Category Supervisor needs to be aware of in terms of this area of compliance and provide you with the knowledge and the tools to ensure that you do
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Identify all the requirements attached to the supervisory role when working under Contract with the Legal Services Commission, including the Supervisors’ Legal Competence Standard as set out in the 2010 Standard (Civil) Contract
- Examine the various ways of meeting the requirements and discuss which might best suit your own professional development and your organisation’s current system of supervision and file review
- Understand how the requirements of the supervisory role relate to quality and performance
- Improve upon or implement a compliant supervision and file review system within your organisation
- Clearly identify the most practical ways of qualifying as a Category Supervisor
This course is aimed at existing supervisors or those who want to work towards meeting the relevant requirements, whether this is for their own professional development or to provide their organisation with additional strategic or operational options. Whilst the course will cover current requirements, the emphasis will be on the new edition of the SQM and those requirements due to come into force in October 2010 under the next Civil Contract
